About the procedure

What is Arthroscopy?

Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical technique that uses a small camera, called an arthroscope, to view the inside of a joint. Specialised instruments may then be used to treat certain problems.

It can be used for selected conditions affecting joints such as the knee and shoulder, depending on the diagnosis.

Why it may help

Benefits of Arthroscopic Techniques

When appropriate, minimally invasive techniques may offer:

  • Smaller surgical incisions
  • Less disruption to surrounding tissues
  • Potentially reduced post-operative discomfort
  • Earlier movement in appropriate cases
  • Structured rehabilitation and recovery

Our Approach

  • Thorough evaluation of the injury or condition
  • Diagnosis-led decision making
  • Arthroscopy considered only when appropriate
  • Alternative surgical options explored where needed
  • Non-surgical treatment offered when suitable

Our approach

Every Joint Problem is Different
